CDR David N. Sare

Commander Sare is a native of Rexburg, Idaho. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from the University of Idaho. He also earned a Master of Business Administration from Utah State University. He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School in 2007.

CDR Sare’s operational assignments include officer-in-charge of Detail Forward Operating Base Wilson, Afghanistan, and company commander, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FORTY; Naval Construction Forces liaison to the Federated States of Micronesia, company commander, and Task Group Commander 56.2/officer-in-charge Detail Bahrain, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ONE.

His shore assignments include construction manager, Naval Air Station Lemoore, California; intern architect, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast, Jacksonville, Florida; public works liaison, Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay Cuba; executive assistant to the commander Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia; assistant public works officer, Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia; and Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division Director at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, Virginia; executive officer, Naval Support Facility Thurmont; Thurmont, Maryland; deputy director, Repair and Maintenance Directorate, JTF Red Hill, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; and operations officer, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Pacific, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

CDR Sare reported to OICC Marine Corps Marianas as the Executive Office in May 2025.

CDR Sare is a Registered Architect in the state of Idaho, a qualified Seabee Combat Warfare officer, and a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps. His decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Army Achievement Medal, and the Military Outstanding Service Volunteer Medal as well as other personal, service, unit, and campaign awards.
