Daris Cook was born in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, grew up in the district of Makakilo on the island of O‘ahu, and graduated from Loyola Marymount University in May 2004, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He holds a Master degree in Business Administration from Chaminade University of Honolulu. He reported aboard Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawai‘i as a Construction Manager in June 2004. While at NAVFAC Hawai‘i, Cook served as a Construction Manager in ROICC Pearl Harbor (2004-2011); Project Manager in the Capital Improvement (CI) Business Line (BL) (2011-2014); Construction SGE/Team Leader in the Facilities, Engineering and Acquisition Division (FEAD), Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) (2014-2017); Supervisory Business Analyst in the Business Directorate (BD) (2017-2020); and SGE in the Design and Construction (DC, formerly CI) Business Line (BL) (2020-2022). In June of 2022, Mr. Cook assumed duties as the Deputy of Officer in Charge of Construction Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. Cook is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Hawai‘i and a member of the Defense Acquisition Workforce with a Level 3 certification. He is a 2009 graduate of NAVFAC Hawai‘ i’s Employee Development Program (EDP) and a 2018 Level II graduate of NAVFACs Leadership Development Program (LDP). He was selected as NAVFAC Hawai‘i’s Engineer of the Year in 2008 and in 2016.
