What is a Restoration Advisory Board?
A Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) is a stakeholder group that meets on a regular basis to discuss environmental restoration at a specific property that is either currently or formerly owned by the Department of Defense, but where the DoD has the responsibility to oversee the environmental restoration process.
What is Environmental Restoration?
Environmental restoration includes all environmental investigations and or cleanup that fall under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation & Liability Act (CERCLA) regulatory framework. This also includes the Military Munitions Response Program and all State-regulated Petroleum cleanups. More information on Environmental Restoration within the Navy can be found at: http://www.navfac.navy.mil/go/erb/.
