Contracting Career

NAVFAC Southwest is always looking for highly motivated individuals who would like to join the Contracting team via entry-level/developmental programs such as the NAVFAC New Professionals Program (N2P2) program (starting as a GS-07) or Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) program (starting as a GS-09) .

Selection to either of these programs is dependent on your education and experience, and the needs of NAVFAC SW Contracting. The PDC program is centrally managed by NAVFAC, while the NADP program is managed outside of NAVFAC.  Both programs lead to permanent Contract Specialist careers upon completion of program requirements.

All participants in the entry-level employee (ELE) programs will receive full benefits from day one. Upon the ELE program completion, participants are expected to reach a journey-level, GS-12 Contract Specialist position and may qualify for student loan repayment

To be considered for the ELE program, individuals must have at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.95 in any field. The GPA requirement is firm and will not be waived.  Business or business-related education and experience is preferred.  Those that meet this minimum requirement may submit their resume and unofficial college transcript(s) to NAVFACSW_ContractingELE@us.navy.mil.

NAVFAC Southwest conducts one round of selections each fiscal year (October-September).  Resumes received after the round of selections will be retained for consideration in the following year.  Applicants will only receive notification of selection or non-selection.  Periodic updates of application status or application debriefs will not be offered due to the high volume of applications received for these very competitive programs.
