Drinking Water
The safety and accessibility of drinking water are major concerns throughout the world. Health risks may arise from consumption of water contaminated with infectious agents, toxic chemicals and radiological hazards.
Drinking Water management focuses on ensuring potable water (water safe for consumption) is provided to all consumers through the monitoring, sampling and maintenance of the water distribution system.
The Japan Environmental Governing Standards Chapter 3 governs drinking water. To learn more about the potability of water provided refer to the annual Fleet Activities Yokosuka Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) or contact the Drinking Water program manager.
