CAPTAIN Catherine U. Eyrich

Captain Eyrich, from Tucson, Arizona, reported to NAVFAC Southwest as Executive Officer in July 2024.

Eyrich is a Seabee Combat Warfare qualified Officer, a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Arizona, and a member of the Professional Acquisition Corps. Her personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medals, an Air Medal, multiple Navy and Marine Corps Commendation and Achievement medals, and various other unit and campaign medals. 

She enlisted in the Navy in January 1994 as a Cryptologic Technician. She later earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Arizona. She was commissioned through NROTC in December 2000 and was designated a naval flight officer in May 2002. In August 2002, Eyrich reported to the EA-6B fleet replacement squadron, VAQ-129, in Whidbey Island, WA with a follow-on assignment to the World Famous Black Ravens of VAQ-135. In 2005, as the Aircraft Maintenance Division Officer, she deployed with CVW-11 aboard USS NIMITZ and provided critical electronic attack support for combat operations in Iraq during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

Eyrich returned to her alma mater as an Associate Professor of Naval Science at the NROTC Unit in 2006 and was selected to lateral transfer into the Civil Engineer Corps in 2009. 
Eyrich’s facilities and acquisition assignments include Facility Management Director, Naval Base San Diego, CA; Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division Director at Naval Base San Diego and later at Naval Station Norfolk; Construction Manager at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti; Executive Officer and Public Works Officer at Naval Support Facility Deveselu, Romania; and Public Works Officer at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-fort Story. Her expeditionary assignments include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FIVE where she served as the Training Officer and Officer in Charge for the Balikatan 2015 detachment in Panay Island, Philippines. Eyrich also served as a Commanding Officer of Naval Support Facility Thurmont.
Eyrich served two administrations at the Presidential Retreat, Camp David from 2020 to 2022. She recently served as Civil Engineer Corps Head Detailer in Millington, TN from June 2022 to May 2024.
