Cmdr. Alan Eichelman is a native of Morristown, TN, holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He was commissioned a Civil Engineer Corps officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School in 2002.
Eichelman’s operational tours include Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FIVE as the Training Officer, Detail Officer in Charge Camp Virginia, Kuwait, and Bravo Company Commander; THIRTIETH Naval Construction Regiment as the Communications Officer; and Naval Mobile Construction Battalion THREE as the Executive Officer.
His shore assignments include Marine Corps Base Camp Butler as the Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas as the Andersen Air Force Base Resident Officer in Charge of Construction and 36 Civil Engineering Squadron Deputy Engineering Flight Commander, Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering as the Functional Integration Department Head and Training Support Agency Director, FIRST Naval Construction Division as the Current Operations Officer for THIRTIETH Naval Construction Regiment units supporting SEVENTH and THIRD Fleet, and Marine Corps Base Camp Butler as the Public Works and Facilities Maintenance Officer. His current duty assignment is the Operations Officer for Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Marianas. Deployments include Camp Covington, Guam; Camp Virginia, Kuwait; Camp Fallujah, Iraq; the Philippines; and Camp Shields, Japan. Overseas duty stations include Okinawa, Japan and Guam.
Eichelman is a Seabee Combat Warfare and Fleet Marine Forces qualified officer, licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Washington, and member of the Acquisition Professional Community. His personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (seven awards) and Navy Achievement Medal (one award).
