Lt. Cmdr. Dylan Bush was raised in Mandeville, Louisiana, and graduated from Louisiana State University in 2005 with a B.S. in biological sciences and from the University of Houston with a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 2010. He has a certificate in Cyber Security from the Naval Postgraduate School and a master’s degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. He was commissioned through OCS in 2010.
Bush’s operational tour of duty includes NMCB ONE in Gulfport, MS where he performed the roles of Assistant Operations Officer, the Engineering Liaison Officer for the Joint U.S. Military Assistance Group-Philippines (JUSMAG-P) during deployment, and finally as Charlie Company Commander. Bush’s shore assignments include duty as a construction manager at the Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Department (FEAD) on board Naval Station Norfolk and as the Assistant Public Works Officer (APWO) at Public Works Department (PWD) Key West where he performed additional roles such as Requirements Branch Head and FEAD director. He completed a tour at Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic (NAVFAC LANT) as the aide to the commander and, at his last assignment, was the FEAD Director at PWD Corpus Christi.
Bush reported to OICC Marine Corps Marinas in July 2023 and is now serving as the Operations Officer.
Bush is a professional engineer in Mechanical Engineering in the state of Texas, qualified Certified Energy Manger, a designated Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist, Level II NAVFAC Public Works, and a Contracting Professional. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with (2) gold stars, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with (1) gold star.
