Executive Officer

Captain Andrew B. Hunt is a native of Berthoud, Colorado. He joined the U.S. Navy through the Bachelor Degree Completion Program, while earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. He attended Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida, where he was commissioned on December 18, 2003, as an Ensign in the United States Navy, Civil Engineer Corps.

Captain Hunt’s Operational/Expeditionary Tours include Company Commander, Officer in Charge Detail Sasebo and Assistant Operations Officer, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133 (07-09). Detachment Officer in Charge and Engineer on Individual Augmentation (IA) assignment with Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) Uruzgan Afghanistan serving at Fire Base Cobra/Tinsley (12-13), Future Operations Officer, Commander Navy Expeditionary Forces Command Pacific, CTF 75 (14-16), BRAVO Company Commander, Amphibious Construction Battalion Two, overseeing all waterfront, MPF and JLOTS Operations (17-19).

Captain Hunt’s Facilities Tours include Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) (04-06), Facilities Management Division Team Leader, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Hawaii, Pearl Harbor (06-07). Assistant Public Works Officer, Marine Corps Base Quantico (10-12).  Engineering Flight Chief, NAVFAC Marianas and 36th Civil Engineering Squadron, Anderson Air Force Base, Guam (16-17), and Public Works Officer, Naval Station Great Lakes (21-24).

Captain Hunt’s Staff Tours include Flag Aide / Executive Assistant to the Deputy, Chief of Civil Engineers at NAVFAC HQ (09-10) and Director of Advanced Training and Assessments, N7 at Navy Expeditionary Warfighting Development Center, overseeing all NECC Integrated Exercises, Advanced Curriculum, and founded NECC Expeditionary Warfare Tactics Instructor Program (19-21).  

Captain Hunt is currently serving as the Executive Officer overseeing all staff planning, policy, and programs at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Hawaii (24-Present).

Captain Hunt is Seabee Combat Warfare qualified, a Professional Engineer (Colorado), holds a Master of Engineering in Civil Infrastructure Engineering/Management, is a Certified Energy Manager, and a qualified Acquisition Community Member. Captain Hunt’s personal awards: Meritorious Service Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (7), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO ISAF Medal, Sea/Over Seas Service ribbons, and various other personal / unit awards.
