Capt. Blake E. Burket

Capt. Blake Burket is a native of Orlando, Florida. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Auburn University in 2002 and was commissioned an ensign through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida, in 2002. He holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington and a Master of Science degree in Systems Analysis from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He is a graduate of the Department of Defense Executive Leadership Development Program Cohort 2016. Burket’s operational tours include Charlie Company Commander / Officer in Charge (OIC) Camp Morell / Disaster Recovery Team OIC Hurricane Katrina, U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 7; Assistant Operations Officer, 22nd Naval Construction Regiment; Training Officer / OIC Det. Kandahar / OIC Det. Dwyer, NMCB 133.

His shore assignments include Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Facilities Management Division Director, Naval Station Rota, Spain; Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland; Shore Readiness Action Officer / Program Analyst, Office of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Assessment Division); Staff Civil Engineer, Naval Reactors (Naval Sea Systems Command 08) / Program Manager for the Department of Energy Facilities, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. At Naval Base Point Loma he served as the installation Executive Officer for one year concurrent with two years as the Base Engineer (N4) and Public Works Officer. Captain Burket assumed duties as the Operations Officer for Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Southwest in May 2023.

Burket is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado, an Association of Energy Engineers Certified Energy Manager, and a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps.  He is qualified as a Seabee Combat Warfare officer and is a Fleet Marine Force officer. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Navy Commendation Medal (6 awards), the Army Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, as well as other personal, service, unit, and campaign awards.
