Training

The Navy's environmental training policy is to implement an efficient and effective environmental training program that provides the right training to the right people at the right time as required to support the Navy's mission.  Training is required for Navy personnel (military and civilian) to accomplish all Navy missions in an environmentally responsible manner, and to comply with laws and regulations.

OPNAVINST 5090.1C http://doni.daps.dla.mil/default.aspx specifies the general awareness, specialty and billet specific training requirements.  The Naval Civil Engineer Corps Officers School (CECOS) https://www.netc.navy.mil/centers/csfe/cecos/ and the Naval Safety and Environmental Training Center (NAVOSHENVTRACEN) http://www.safetycenter.navy.mil/ are the two Navy training organizations defined to develop and deliver environmental training.

Installation specific web-based training is available through the Environmental Compliance Assessment, Training, and Tracking System (ECATTS) https://navfac.ecatts.com/.
